“Hi Lynden,

Thank you for contacting us regarding our UNCLE TOBYS Weeties.

Thank you for your email it was a most interesting read. Alas however we do believe you are confusing our UNCLE TOBYS Weeties with the US General Mills product Wheaties.

Based on the information we could find for you, in 1953 and 1954 Wheaties cereal boxes contained little license plates for each US state, the Canadian provinces and some US Holdings – one per box. You could also order sets of the plates directly from General Mills. These plates are frequently found on web auctions, at flea markets, etc. They are all dated 1953 or 1954. In the late 70’s, early 80’s there was another set of state plates issued through cereal boxes. These are more rectancular than the 53-54 series.

While NESTLE Uncle Tobys and General Mills have a joint venture in cereal partners world wide we do not at this time (or any time in the past) manufacture licence plates here in Australia.

Feel free to contact us again by return e-mail if we can help further.

Kind Regards,

And stay tuned for my reply.
